    Foung Heu for State Senate: White Bear Parade

    A few weeks ago while shooting Will and Mang’s wedding, Foung approached me to document some parts of his campaign for state senate. I couldn’t be more honored as Foung and I know each other through various outlets since I was fourteen. He’s a freelance videographer and I’m a photographer, thus we speak in similar languages. Foung’s a passionate activist and has been a part of many integral community planning.

    Last night I got to take a little break from photo editing land to document his campaign at work in the White Bear Avenue parade. Wow, what a walk! I had absolutely no idea how long this parade was (1.2 miles to be exact). Great fun! Here are the images in their entire-unedited-glory. My best wishes to Foung– and as his campaign chanted throughout the parade, “VOTE FOUNG 8-10″!!

    Sarah & Cory Engaged

    In easing back to shooting weddings again, after having two kids in two consecutive years, I decided to join on as an associate at Studio Blue Photography for the 2010 season. Sarah and Cory are one of the wonderful couples I was able to meet and work with through Studio Blue.

    I remember asking Sarah and Cory where they wanted to do their engagement photos, and when they mentioned their fondness for the city of Duluth (they got engaged in Cascade Park – about an hour north of Duluth), I literally jumped at it! Looking forward to their wedding.

    The Gurung Family

    I remember it raining for a good minute or so on the drive to my session with Konnie, Mukhiya and the kids, and thought we might have to postpone or make do in the rain. But lo and behold, the sky cleared just before I reached their home and it turned out to be one beautiful evening with a beautiful family. Cheers.
